Here’s one of my favorite photos of my dad:
Granted, you can’t really see him. But you know he’s there—supporting me and doing all the work, so I can enjoy the ride.
It’s a great metaphor, really. My dad has worked hard his entire life to support me and my sisters, to make sure we lack for nothing.
He’s also had the courage to discipline us, and to teach us the values and virtues he holds most dear: integrity, self-discipline, determination, hard work.
I will never live up to the example my father has set. But I will always be grateful for his guidance—and for his rock-steady presence in my life.
So today I say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being my father.
Happy Father’s Day.
