Every day, I’m amazed in some way by my incredible good fortune.
Some days I’m reminded of how lucky I am to have a job. Other days, I realize how fortunate I am to feel healthy, or to have my vision or my hearing or my mobility.
Esteban and I often say how lucky we are to have a home and warm clothes and plenty to eat. I’m also grateful for my education, and for the privilege of having grown up all over the world. I’m deeply thankful for the people I love — and for the people who love me back.
But most of all, on this Thanksgiving Day I’m grateful for the small miracle that is my very existence, for the wondrous gift that is consciousness. Today, my message to the universe is simply, “Thank you for my life.”
