Monet meets Flash

Every so often, bits and bytes transcend technology and become art.

Such is the case with the Flash-based website that France’s Réunion des Musées Nationaux has created to promote their Claude Monet exhibit.

I can’t describe it; you have to experience it for yourself. But I will say that it’s every bit a masterpiece as the paintings it celebrates.

Here are two views of Monet’s glorious waterlilies to whet your appetite. I saw these in 2009 in the L’Orangerie museum in Paris.

Want to see more? Google offers an excellent compendium of Monet’s work. And don’t forget to check out what happens when Monet meets Flash.
