What a terrible thing to have happen right before your wedding! Well … what a terrible thing, period. Although I often wonder what more he would have accomplished if he had lived, it is of some comfort that his words continue to resonate — and continue to change the world.
The whole story about little Clark Reynolds is beautiful, isn’t it? That image is one of a handful that will define this particular presidency for me. But of course that’s another story altogether …
Even though I’ve only witnessed the Obama family in the White House in snippets, from faraway, I feel lucky to have lived in this time. The Obamas have been such gracious, honourable inhabitants of the White House.
I came back to offer my thoughts on the visually-searing, poignant images you shared yesterday in relation to UNICEF and the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Thank you for sharing that. And I know that you know I was jesting about that motorcycle cop in the MLK march (I’m an angry pacifist, lol) but I still really liked your response about the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. I’m a 24/7 role model, I can use as many reminders as possible. Hope you’re having a good Tuesday.

Hello Jason! How good of you to stop by. And how good of you to let me know my post went AWOL, too! I was adding tags and apparently accidentally scheduled the updated post for some future date. Oops. Goes to show why one should never edit their blog while delirious from the flu, LOL. As for YOUR post: Yes, I expected your kind pacifist self was joking. But I thought I might leave a word or two of encouragement, just in case …
Warmest greetings to you from the chilly north!

I remember the day of his assassination, only two days before my wedding. How he changed the world! Still such a long way to go!

Perfect quote. Thanks for posting the photo, H.

I love this quote because it just speaks to everyone no matter where you are in the world or who you are. Love is the foundation of humanity !
You have said it so beautifully: Love IS the foundation of humanity. Thank you for stopping by, and for your beautiful words.
