I knew something was up yesterday morning, when I opened my email.

On and on the messages went, filling my in-box almost to capacity. “Holy shmit!” I thought. “I’ve been Freshly Pressed again?!”
I had my first brush with fame last March, when I wrote about the yin and yang of destruction and creation. I was pretty psyched to get over 2,000 hits in one day. (Until then, I’d had only two regular readers. Honest!)
But although it was gratifying to watch that gray bar grow taller, my favorite part of the Freshly Pressed experience was the interaction with my fellow bloggers. I discovered some wonderful writers that day — and I made a handful of cherished friends (thank you, dancingbeastie, knotrune, Lis, insidejourneys, XpatScot …). I was reminded that there are a lot of cool, kind, interesting, intelligent people out there.
The same has been true over the past couple of days.
So … to all of you who read and who wrote: Thank you! I’m sorry I don’t have time to respond to all of your comments individually, but I greatly appreciate them.
And to my new subscribers: Welcome! I’ll do my best to post stuff that’s worthy of your time — or to at least make you smile. (Disclaimer: Please read and initial the Attempted Humor clause.)
And last — but definitely not least — a huge THANK YOU to WordPress for providing the platform for this blog. You guys rock.

Hello, DB! That’s a giant YES to the weird sense of deja vu. Only this time it’s on steroids. Apparently people love reading about Star Wars — and bras.
And yes, you and I do go waaaaay back (at least in HBlog history). So you’ll always have a cherished place in this writer’s life, even after her 15 minutes of fame are up.
